Supporting Springfield's Veterans
As a mentor for the Veterans Treatment Court, Chuck works with veterans struggling with mental health and substance abuse disorders. He worked with state legislators to secure funds for veterans to travel to and from the Veterans Treatment Court, and was appointed to Governor Healey’s Advisory Council for Veterans Services. As City Councilor, he will continue fighting to provide Springfield's veterans with the support and resources they need.
Preventing Violence
Violent crime continues to be a major concern for all of us in Ward 6. As City Councilor, Chuck will take a proactive approach to crime by working to address its root causes. By alleviating poverty and housing insecurity, providing treatment for mental health and substance abuse issues, investing in education and after-school programs, and improving the public’s relationship with the police, we can reduce violent crime and make our community safer for everyone.
Improving Street Safety
Sumner Ave, Longhill Street, and many more of Ward 6’s main roads are becoming increasingly dangerous for pedestrians and bikers in our community. Speeding and running red lights puts our safety at risk, while traffic congestion and car pollution degrades our quality of life. As Ward 6 City Councilor, Chuck will take these concerns seriously and will work to improve the safety of Ward 6’s streets.
Economic Development
As an entrepreneur and business owner, Chuck knows how important small, local businesses are to our community’s local economy. As City Councilor, he will work to create good-paying jobs, expand economic opportunities, and support Ward 6’s small businesses and entrepreneurs.
